In these Two category competitions you are allowed to dance to only one of these three styles; Oriental (Modern or Classic songs), Shaabi or Baladi, these three styles are not separate categories. Our judges will judge you based on your own interpretation of the style you picked against the other dancers with the style they picked.
Props: The only prop that will be allowed is Veil or Saidi Stick.
Time: Your music must not exceed 4 minutes.
First Round: Competing to recorded music;
A song of your choice; the song must follow the Competition Guidelines regarding timing and style.
Second Round; You will be competing with DLAE Live Orchestra;
The Second Round will consist of a short Egyptian Show Program as performed in an Egyptian nightclub, due to time restraints, it will be a maximum 7-minute show; the show must have an opening with Mejanse, a classic song, After that, a Baladi, Shaabi, Saidi or Tabla Solo as a final. You need to be ready with any of the Egyptian dance styles.
Be ready with an Oriental costume, Baladi dress, Shaabi costume, or a costume with a quick change on the stage or off the stage.
Our esteemed Egyptian Orchestra will play one of the following 10 show programs for you. Familiarize yourself with these songs, if you happen to be one of the finalists, you will choose the program for yourself in a random lottery right after you have been announced as a finalist on Saturday
December 2ND

RISING STAR Category: The announcement will take place on Tuesday, December 3rd. right after the Open Stage/showcase.
QUEEN Category: The winner’s announcement will take place on Saturday
December 7th in the middle of The Superstars Closing Gala Show. The first winner will have the chance to perform at the DLAE Opening Gala Show 2025.

Refund requests placed on or before August 1st will receive a full refund, 5% less for credit card and or processing fees.
Refund requests placed on or before October 1st will receive 50% of all monies paid.
No refund after October 1st, 2021.

Force Majeure:
Any delay or failure in the performance by DLAE management hereunder shall be excused if and to the extent caused by the occurrence of a Force Majeure. For purposes of this Agreement, Force Majeure shall mean a cause or event that is not reasonably foreseeable or otherwise caused by or under the control of the Party claiming Force Majeure, including but not limited to; acts of God, fires, floods, explosions, riots, wars, hurricane, sabotage terrorism, vandalism. accident, restraint of government, governmental acts, injunctions, labor strikes, obtaining visas for Master Instructors or sickness of said instructors other than those, and other like events that are beyond the reasonable anticipation and control of the Party affected thereby, despite such Party’s reasonable efforts to prevent, avoid, delay, or mitigate the effect of such acts, events or occurrences, and which events or the effects thereof are not attributable to a Party’s failure to perform its obligations under this Agreement.
