Dance Like An Egyptian DVD Vol. 5 Offers 3 Different Choreographies.
1. Powerful & Dynamic Oriental Mejanse Technique & Choreography.
2. Spicy & Delightful Accordion Baladi Technique & Choreography.
3. Playful Classic Shaabi Style To A Medley Of Ahmed Adaweya Songs.

Powerful & Dynamic Oriental Mejanse

This Choreography consists of combining traditional and contemporary oriental movements. In this choreo you will learn how to articulate your whole body with special emphasis on your hips, shoulders and arms with a unique Egyptian feeling. Mr. Shahin will also give a clear and detailed breakdown of technique and combinations. This dance is an inspiring and authentic Egyptian entrance.

The song is a very powerful; dreamy with a soft flow, many rhythmic changes & melodic variations, mixing the mood and energy, with a very strong ending. It was composed taking into consideration the perfect dynamics for your performance.

Spicy & Delightful Accordion Baladi

The Baladi Choreography has a heavy feeling; with the dancer appearing relaxed and strongly connected to the ground. Mohamed will break down the choreography, teaching the technique behind each section and focusing on use of the arms and hip movements.

The Baladi song starts with a powerful and playful intro with beautiful lyrics describing the physical beauty and playfulness of the Baladi girl, followed by accordion takseem, Further call and response between the drum and accordion, progressing faster and faster and ending with high energy.

Playful Classical Shaabi Style

It’s Shaabi time! This Choreography will use a lot of gestures from the local Egyptian women. The dance is upbeat, very playful, earthy and flirty. As always, Mohamed will break down the choreography, teaching the technique behind each section.

The Shaabi song used here is called Adaweeyat; it is a new arrangement of a medley of three songs from the legendary Shaabi singer Ahmed Adaweya. These songs are very familiar to many of you and no doubt you will love dancing to them. With its witty lyrics, sensual funky moves and cultural gestures, Egyptian Shaabi music and dance is enormously popular amongst belly dancers across the globe.
